Radio Show Plan
Watch Dogs
The official trailer has been released on YouTube of the new game "Watch Dogs". The first thing you notice in the trailer is the look of the game, the graphics are stuning. Whether this is a compliment to the standard of the PlayStation 4's graphics, or just this game. The opening cinematic looks so realistic, the colours are perfect, the city's surroundings make the game come to life. As for the gameplay, the trailer shows a small portion of a chase scene. By the looks of it, it is a free roam game, much like Grand Theft Auto or Saints Row. The city looks perfect to roam about in, there is a range of vehicles to drive around in, an overall big city to cause havoc in. The chase scene involves a man mugging a woman, you come out of nowhere and chase the mugger through the city until the police turn up, you run through a store, which means there is some sort of customisation added to the game, which is likely for a free roaming game. You end up having the ability to stop a train and ride on it to get away from the police, also you destory a camera which is focused on you, which looks like alot of fun, having the ability to stop/destroy what you want. As for the objective/theme of the game, the trailer enphasises the use of hacking alot. For instance when you walk by all of the many NPC pedestrians, you can see information about who they are next to them, name, occupation etc. Also, the trailer shows your character taking a pedestrians bank details and removing all their money from their bank into your pocket, which looks like a very easy way to gain money. The "slogan" of the game the "Hacking Is Our Weapon" which sounds interesting and different to all the other games being released at the moment. Overall the game looks supirior, you don't know much about the story as it is only a trailer but it is all to look forward to.

4 Minute Video Evaluation(Unfinished)
4 Minute Video
Evaluation
I had to make a 4 minute video on a random topic of my choice;
I chose to gather a range of clips from different films I selected and edited
them to Dubstep music. I did this by syncing the clips to music in Sony Vegas,
adding different effects in After Effects and adding colour correction using
Magic Bullet Looks.
Some of the films I chose were; Scarface, The Matrix and Snatch.
The films are a part of the Action genre; I used this genre because they would
fit the aggressiveness that Dubstep music brings. I used a scene from Scarface
where the main character blows through a door using a grenade launcher; this
was a good choice because there was an explosion which fit the part of the song
I used. I also used a scene from The Matrix where an elevator explodes, again
this fits with the song that I used.
I used a range of different songs from different Dubstep
artists including; Noisia and Emalkay. I used the songs from these artists because
they make a lot of powerful music which went well with explosions etc from the
film clips. I used Emalkay – When I Look At You, because it had a lot of slow
kicks that was good to sync the fighting scene in The Matrix to.
Strengths:
I think I worked well on this project; I tried to stick to
the main subject rather than drifting off into something else. What I mean by
this is that I stuck to the Dubstep genre and didn’t move into a different type
of music.
4 Minute Video Review
I think the project went ok, I could have added more to it,
and been a bit more creative with the scenes. I could have used more of a range
of song genres, but the Dubstep went well with the scenes I chose. The reason I
used film clips instead of clips that I recorded was because I couldn’t think
of anything to film and that it would be a good idea to do what I did. I
thought the 2nd to last clip went well with the music because it was
slow and so was the music, the last clip wasn’t as good as I missed a couple of
points to sync the film with the song. The film hasn’t really got a meaning to
it, it’s just a video of a few films mixed together synced to music.
Other Peoples
Review’s
It is a very good
video. The music is synced well and the editing is awesome. The clips go really
well with the music and it is very entertaining. But there could have been more
to it.
